Why Volunteer at WRLL?
(Besides the occasional free hot dog.)
At West Redding Little League, every practice, every game, every chalked baseline, and every snack bar nacho exists because someone volunteered to help.
WRLL is entirely operated by volunteers — parents, grandparents, neighbors, and community members who believe that youth baseball and softball matter.
Without volunteers, there is no league.
The good news? Helping out is easier than most people think.
It Makes the Season Better for the Kids
Volunteers help create:
Every small task behind the scenes adds up to a better experience for every player on the field.
You Don’t Need Baseball Experience
Many volunteers worry they need to be baseball experts.
Not true.
WRLL needs help with things like:
snack bar shifts
field prep
event setup
scorekeeping
organizing volunteers
photography
team communication
If you can show up and help, you’re qualified.
The Snack Bar Runs on Volunteers
One of the busiest places at the fields is the snack bar.
More volunteers means:
shorter lines
more food options
happier kids and parents

Volunteers Make the Fun Happen
Events like:
Opening Day celebrations
the Home Run Derby
family movie nights
community BBQs
end-of-season events
All happen because someone in the community says:
"I’ll help with that."
If you'd like to see more fun events at the fields, we would love your help bringing them to life.
Help Support the League
WRLL fundraising helps pay for:
equipment
field maintenance
uniforms
league improvements
One way to help is by supporting the Spring 2026 WRLL Raffle.

Most Volunteer Jobs Take Less Than 2 Hours
You don’t have to commit your whole season.
Many roles are quick and simple:
snack bar shifts
helping set up an event
scorekeeping a game
helping prep the field
Even one short volunteer shift helps the entire league.
The Real Reason People Volunteer
Something special happens when a community rallies around youth sports.
Kids remember:
the cheers from the stands
the coaches who encouraged them
the families who helped make the season happen
Volunteering is one of the ways we build community and support our kids together.
